|02:20 pm - Battletoads|
And very suddenly, out of nowhere, I want to play Battletoads.
I cannot explain this.

Re: Oh oh me
I think you're right. It's certainly confusing to me. Gods only know how many times I failed to beat most of those levels.
Thanks. It was time for a change, and I thought long about whether it would be this one or the shirtless archery pic.
Tough choice :)
wait....shirtless.... what were we talking about?
I can be found shirtless at many festivals, you know. . .
You should go to Desert Magic
. It's a really good one, and I'll bet you can get reasonable airfare if you shop around. . .
okay. when should i book my flights for? :-D
DMF is from May 4 to May 8. Check with Sonoran Sunrise Grove to see if they can pick you up at the airport. :)
It really is a great festival. I'll be teaching a class on amulets there. Plus, there are pools, hot tubs and that Nemeton
. . .
oh i remember people talking about it. i had already decided if i was going to one, i'd be desert magic. :)
but i haven't renewed my membership with adf. is that okay?
Looking at their rates (bottom of the page
) and their registration form
, it looks like there's no difference in cost.
You will want to provide your ADF membership # for them, in any event, though. I think it'll be helpful to them. How long have you been expired (I'm up for renewal in less than a month, myself)?
You might also request some indoor sleeping arangements. I don't know if they have any left at the moment, but it's worth a shot and you won't have to carry any camping equipment. Kirk put me out in the stables again this year, which quite amuses me.
Their mealplan is also quite exceptional.

I think it has something to do with that toadskin shirt. How many toads did it take, anyway?
36. Not including that half-dozen others that I skinned, but managed to mangle in the process.
Battletoads was a lot of fun. Maybe it's all those comics they had in Nintendo Power creating some kind of flashback?
I remember all those times we played we got stuck in the turbo tunnel and couldn't get any farther. It's a challenging game. We have the Battletoads & Double Dragon version at the parent's house for SNES, it's pretty well done. I still want to try the original again.
entirely possible. I think we got past the turbo tunnel once or twice, but certainly not very often.
I think you're right about that game. I'd forgotten we had that. :)
If I find the original somewhere, I'll let you know.
Ah, I remember both the game and the comic. My favorite was the scene where that mad scientist guy keeps rewinding and playing the video of the 'Toads getting a hotfoot in the lava. Classic. :)

Hm, never heard of Battletoads. But I checked out the Wiki page you linked to, and the Dark Queen is hot; makes me want to play Battletoads, too ;)
(And yes, as I pointed out to the guys who run my local comic store the other day, I do have a weakness for scantily clad comic women, a natural extension of my natural male weakness for scantily clad women in general ;)
