10:04 am - Projects, and a small haircut. A trim, really. Wellspring [review] has me back in the swing of spirituality, I think. I've got two study programs to finish my own work on (there's an odd, sudden urgency to finishing Trance 2. . . I wonder why?), as well as numerous projects that are in a stage of complete-or-almost-complete that just need that last little bit of work to create the report. Putting the Clergy Training Program to bed is liberating, but it also brings me back around to the next project, which is the completion of the Liturgist Guild Study Program, which needs to be written.
Oh, and as some have noticed, my hair is now cut a tad shorter.
The Hair is 12 inches total, and 8" was the minimum donation length. I blew it away. Donation was made to Pantene Beautiful Lengths
I've sent my hair off to Wisconsin for redistribution into a wig. It's a bit odd, sending hair off like that (the magician in me cringes at the thought), but it's good hair: thick, long, and never, ever treated with any sort of chemical or dye. I picked Pantene mostly due to the fact that they accept hair as short as 8 inches, which meant that more of my hair was likely to be used. They give hair specifically to women who have cancer, though that didn't factor much into my decision: I don't really care if it's a woman or a child, or if they have cancer or have just gone bald.
I just hope that someone enjoys the hair, and that it helps get them through what they're facing in life.
And for the record, no, I do not miss long hair (I actually hated it with a pretty intense passion), nor will I be doing this again in the foreseeable future. I loved doing it once, but I don't know if I'll ever be up for another round. Current Location: Southeast of Disorder Current Mood: busy Current Music: "God's Own Drunk", -JB

Comments:
I' ve said it before, and I'll say it again. You're a good man mike.
I just do what I do. Thank you, though.
So you gonna grow it back out and do it again? :)
It's unlikely. I really did dislike having the long hair, and I figured that I was approaching that magical age where the hair would either start to turn gray or thin out, so I probably won't be able to manage it like I have been.
However, I won't rule it out. I just don't actually expect to do it again.

Eek, it's even shorter than it was before you started your hair-farming!
I know. I actually kind of like it at this length. I'll probably grow it out a bit, though, for normal wear. Hard to say.
Thought about shaving it, though. Like, shaving it gone. I decided against that course of action, however. . . clearly.
Didn't want to sunburn my head.
I don't think you'd look good with your head shaved. Dark hair leaves too much of a shadow, especially if you don't shave it every day. The short 'do you have now is about as short as I think would suit you, in fact.
Yeah, that's the other thing that stopped me: not everyone can pull off a naked head. I don't really think that I'd be able to, myself.
Though I admit to being tempted to try, just to see!

Everyone knows that you wait till the middle of winter to shave your head and then still refuse to wear a hat, it's only logical. (Damn I'm stupid...)
Whoops, that was me, though I'm sure you could have guessed.
Yeah, a bit. But I couldn't see myself rubbing suntan lotion onto my head. Would have been odd.
oh wow, that was a nice chunk of hair! I like the new hair cut though :)
Yes, a very annoying chunk of hair :) Thanks!
Just for the record, and not that I am all cheesey and everything but.....
you look much better with short hair. To me anyway...not that it matters, I mean I ain't like wanting to jump your bones or anything, just saying....you look good either way....but to me, better with shorter hair.
*wonders if that sounds as bad as it did when I wrote it*
No, not at all :)
Thank you :)
I was going to say something at WS but I figured you had already heard enough "you got your hair cut!" comments. Kind of how I feel today with "you got sunburned!" comments.
I do like the do though, looks like you now, I didn't know who that long haired, hippy, guy was... or if I could trust him.
Not sure you can trust either one :) I rarely trust me!
And yeah, I've been getting a few comments. The best was when my work-neighbors across the hall from my office tried to stop that guy breaking into my office. . . only to realize it was me.
Finally legions of women will be able to stop swooning over your hair. The world may now return to normal.
Missed you at DMF good sir.
They'll just find something else to swoon over, Bert... he's like a comet with a tail made of women, it just gets longer the closer he gets to the Sun. >;)
Jesus! loving the new look.. now you look vaguely familiar.. sort of like someone else I know.. oh yeah! your dad! hahah awesome hair donation.. now I can be the pretty one again! love ya!
Good stuff sir. Also, some pretty healthy looking hair you have.
You have red hair! Short it looks so dark. Long the highlights show up.
such shiny hair! I had no idea it had gotten that long. I think the last time I saw you it was still above, or just grazing, your shoulder. Impressive.
More impressive that you donated it!
OK, obviously behind on my F-list.....
Much as I'm a fan of longer hair in general & I'm not saying that the long hair looked bad on you at all (as if you could look bad) but you look more like *you* with your hair short. |
