Might cause me not to go. We'll have to see. I'll know better when I get back from DMF. I really think that $75 is absolutely ridiculous, and forcing people to join ADF is even worse.

Well, they did add another day, which would justify the $10 increase. Camping is $10/night, so after sleeping on it, I'm very much okay with the increase there.
I'm awaiting clarification from StoneCreed about the Non-Member's price before I make a big deal about this on Leadership. As I leave tomorrow for DMF, though, I might just need to mention it to people out there, if I don't get clarification today.
Well, having organized an event -- Elysium Gathering -- I know how much work they can be. We worked very hard to make Elysium a good gathering, and I believe it was. I'm sorry, but I don't see the folks at Stonecreed putting in 1/10 of the work we did to host Elysium or what 6th Night does with Summerland. The Stonecreed folks charge a fee and do very little to justify that fee. All they do is show up on site.
The program book is a sheet of paper, and many of the workshops are decided upon at the event. There is little in the way of planning, and organization of the event and it is a little insulting.
I feel the event is overpriced and doesn't fulfill "why not excellence." If excellence is drinking and smoking pot then it is by far an excellent event, otherwise it is an ADF frat party.
Nah. If it were an ADF frat party, there'd be a lot more hotties, because they wouldn't let guys in without at least 10 girls accompanying them.
*laughs* See, now I'm wondering where I find the ADF sorority party. . .
You guys did a lot of work for Elysium (it showed) and 6th Night I *know* does a lot of work for Summerland (because I helped them plan it one year). I was very let-down last year by Wellspring. Of course, I knew hardly anyone there, and really wanted to see some of the workshops, but was severely disappointed in both quality and quantity.
This year, I'm taking a circle of friends with me, including my Grove, and expect that I'll be meeting a *bunch* of LJ users (who rock, btw), so even if the festival sucks, I can make it really good by simply being around people I like. This year, I won't be a transient gypsy who has to impose himself on others in order to not hang out alone (which is very much how I felt last year).
