|03:10 pm - New Essay|
Just posted this to Dedicants, but I also want a broader, more personal set of responses to this essay:
Creating the Desire for Worship
Let me know what you think, please. I'd like to clean it up for Oak Leaves.
Current Mood: anxious
Current Music: "My Lovely Lady", -JB
Good essay. :)
I really liked the way that you used the example of quitting a desire as a contrast for creating a desire.
BTW, have you tried it? Does doing those particular practices really instill a desire? Because for me, it's always been a matter of setting the intention - and then I am stubborn enough to follow through....whether starting OR quitting a habit. I'm not sure if those other things would work for me.
have you tried it?
Actually, yes, though I wasn't thinking in quite the same paradigm.
My altar is in a location such that you cannot enter or exit the bedroom without seeing it. In fact, the door doesn't fully open because of the altar, and as such, it's a very visible thing.
Also, when reading Cei's book, I find myself more likely to have the desire to preform ritual.
And affirmations always work.
I'm not sure if those other things would work for me.
Well, obviously it won't work for everyone. :)
