SYNONYMS love, affection, devotion, fondness These nouns denote feelings of warm personal attachment or strong attraction to another person. Love is the most intense: married for love. Affection is a less ardent and more unvarying feeling of tender regard: parental affection. Devotion is earnest, affectionate dedication and implies selflessness: A leader who inspires devotion. Fondness is strong liking or affection: a fondness for puppies.

It might be ineffible. It might not make sense. It might just be something that we can't figure out.

Still, I like to think that I know what it is. Just wish I could put it into words. . .

How about: "Red hair and black leather: my favourite colour scheme"?

Yeah, that'll work for now.

No fair cribbing from song lyrics. Good song though...

I think it's good enough to steal the lyrics.

Re: Don't know if this'll help or not

I'm forbidden from reading that, or so my computer tells me.

Love is looking out the window to see you husband help your 15 month old daughter plant a willow tree just for you, and come in the house all muddy for a hug.

Love is having your hand held at three in the morning while you and your partner sleep.

Love is so many things and, I admit, I'm being tres sappy about it. Right now this is love to me.

Love is the Slug...

I'll crib song lyrics, too. But I'm feeling less than thrilled on the subject, so I quote Concrete Blonde, who wrote my absolute favorite song on the subject.

"Love is the ghost haunting your head
Love is the killer you thought was your friend
Love is the Beast that will tear our your heart
Hungrily lick it & painfully pick it apart..."

Love is a feeling of deep caring & affection for another person. But it does not make the world go round.

Further thougths on love.....

It dies. It dies very slowly & quietly- so quietly that those not inclined to thinking overly much can go for years not realizing that they've got a cold, putrifying corpse where their heart should be.

It should never be confused with lust.

Giving up everything for love is a wonderful romantic notion. It is also extremely stupid in most cases. Consequences matter much, much more than most people realize until it's too late.

Love does not make everything alright. Being poor is not any better if you're in love at the same time. In fact, you just tend to fight about money a lot.

I held that opinion before I met you.

But I'll admit that it might seems suspect :)
