It was about this future trip to Kansas City. For some strange reason I was not flying, but rather getting an early start and finding alternative means of transport (who knows: maybe they kicked me off the plane for my whip?). Anyway, I started off walking, really with the intent to walk all the way there, I think, if I had to. Well, I was wandering through central Ohio on my first day, and I came to a train station. I stopped in, and wondered if I could get a ticket to KC. I chatted up the hottie behind the ticket counter for a bit, and then we got down to business.
She explained that there were a series of tickets I would need to purchase to get out of Ohio, because the number of tickets depended on the number of staions you passed (kinda-sorta like the commuter trains in Chicago or Boston). Well, there was some confusion as to whether the ticket package could get me all the way to Kansas City, and whether it was worth it to pay for tickets to Indiana when I'd be there in two days, anyway, just by walking.
Well, turns out that she could get me tickets all the way to Kansas City, and she showed me a map of where I would end up. The train station was in the center of the city, and I figured that would work out. But then I realized that if I got there too early, no one would be expecting me, and I hadn't brought any phone numbers. I was particularly concerned that triadruid might not want me just showing up on his doorstep, and there was also the fact that I had no idea where his doorstep was. I thought about dropping by capriciouslass's house, as I did know where that was, but there was a nagging feeling that I should torture someone else with my presence for a while, as I didn't want to outstay my welcome.
Then I looked at the map again, and saw a big square near the river, and inside it said: "Reserved for Saffron Hare". I figured I could just show there and hang out until saffronhare showed up (and myabe talk to the armed guards that the girl behind the desk assured me were there to keep drifters like myself out).
I took the ticket package, but was shocked to find that I couldn't pay for it. She wanted $2500 for it, and all I could thik was, "Woman, that's why I decided to walk!"
Thus ended the dream.
On a side note, I will be going to see Eris this weekend. I'll have a camera with me, so you can all see Eris, too. Is there anything anyone needs? Ask now, because I don't know how often I'll be visiting in the future. It all depends on how this visit goes.
Yes, I'm completely serious. It's a physical visit. fred_smith and I figured out it was possible last night.
