I swear, last night the following words, exactly, left my mouth:

"Hot damn! I love getting these things! Archeological studies rock!"

Because no one heard me make this exclamation, I figured I'd pump up the embarassment factor.

I received this: From the Sword to the Plough: Three Studies on the Earliest Romanisation of Northern Gaul (Amsterdam Archaeological Studies, 1)

Hot damn, I'm a nerd.

It certainly *looks* good, at first glance. . . For the book weight and size and pictures alone, $14 is a steal :) I have a companion to this that is definitely worth it. . .

Gods, Temples and Ritual Practices: The Transformation of Religious Ideas and Values in Roman Gaul (Amsterdam Archeological Studies , Part 2)

Well, you might actually be interested in the whole series. But it's a really expensive series. :) I only have those two books, though. But I'm very happy with them.

I think the series has at least 7 books in it.
