You know, I have no idea what's up with this, but apparently someone is reading athanasios's journal and forwarding links from it. I guess they've been doing it for a long time.

Whoever it is. . . You're just creating drama. If you don't like athanasios, then why are you reading his journal?

A) you know it's just going to make you mad.
B) forwarding things on just stirs the pot and pisses people off.
C) if you think you're being smart/cool, you ain't.

As a Discordian, I'd like to say one final thing:

If you think you're doing Eris a favour, you aren't. Rememeber the idea of destructive and creative chaos? If you don't, re-read your Principia, because you suck at being a Discordian.

===

(from p. 63, Principia Discordia)

To choose order over disorder, or disorder over order, is to accept a trip composed of both the creative and the destructive. But to choose the creative over the destructive is an all-creative trip composed of both order and disorder. To accomplish this, one need only accept creative disorder along with, and equal to, creative order, and also be willing to reject destructive order as an undesirable equal to destructive disorder.

heard about the comment in question from someone else.

That's what bugs me. There's someone who seems to just want to point these things out. That's what's annoying. I'd prefer it just get ignored.

the health of the Bardic Guild.

At less than 24 members (and generally ignoring new apps, from what people have told me), I've been concerned about it for a while. As I have been told that I am "too young to write chants," though, joining the BG seemed like a waste of my good time.

I don't know what any of this has to do with Discordianism

Hopefully nothing. But if there's somone out there who thinks they're being cute and Discordian, they should know that they really, really aren't.

I don't know who would have told you that, but obviously, they're full of it. You and I are the same age, and I've never been told I'm too young to write anything; my tutor is a great guy (Wry Welwood) who is always ready to work with my on any of my poems, and who has never put down my age.

Oh, I thought the same thing. But then, the person who told me this told me to keep it private. I assume because they know that I'd win an arguement over it.

It led to one of the deeper posts about my religion out there.

But I was told I was too young by a member of the Bardic Guild, and honestly, it pissed me off.

Normally, yes, but not if someone has been appointed as the new head of a guild by a former head who has just quit, mainly with the purpose of destroying the guild and attacking the MG. That doesn't seem to be what IS actually happening, but that's what it looked like from the original message. Such a situation isn't something to ignore, but to bring out into the open. Revolutions are better than coups, but hopefully neither of these things are happening--only reform.

Gwynne Green created the Bardic Guild back in 1994. I hardly believe she would desire to destroy the Bardic Guild. She put a lot of passion into the Guild, and into ADF. Just I did, Rob Barton did, my wife did, and all the members of our two groves did.

We truly cared about ADF, and it was a painful decision for all of us to leave.

I disagree. Whisper campains & talking behind people's backs are the most damaging things imaginable because there's nothing in the open. They just foster doubt & distrust. They don't go away if ignored- they just get worse.

Good point. It has been brought to my attention that there have been three seperate "official" complaints brought against me and presented to the Mother Grove, so if I ever try to re-join ADF my life will be miserable. I have NOT seen these complaints, but I still have friends on the Mother Grove.

Alas, as Hikem Bey points out, every Temporary Autonomous Zone eill eventually kill itself with Bureaucracy. The ADF seems poised there now.

Sad, but remember, for every TAZ that dies, new ones spring up and stagnation is avoided.

I dunno my friend, it looks like they stirred you up quite a bit... I would imagine our Dear Lady has a smirk on her face, even now. ;-)

Or not.
