You know, I have no idea what's up with this, but apparently someone is reading athanasios's journal and forwarding links from it. I guess they've been doing it for a long time.
Whoever it is. . . You're just creating drama. If you don't like athanasios, then why are you reading his journal?
A) you know it's just going to make you mad.
B) forwarding things on just stirs the pot and pisses people off.
C) if you think you're being smart/cool, you ain't.
As a Discordian, I'd like to say one final thing:
If you think you're doing Eris a favour, you aren't. Rememeber the idea of destructive and creative chaos? If you don't, re-read your Principia, because you suck at being a Discordian.
(from p. 63, Principia Discordia)
To choose order over disorder, or disorder over order, is to accept a trip composed of both the creative and the destructive. But to choose the creative over the destructive is an all-creative trip composed of both order and disorder. To accomplish this, one need only accept creative disorder along with, and equal to, creative order, and also be willing to reject destructive order as an undesirable equal to destructive disorder.

Can't we all just get along?
I'm not part of ADF, and know very little of the controversy beyond chronarchy's posts, but this whole thread is striking a nerve with me because of all the controversy I've been dealing with this summer regarding our local ecumenical Pagan organization.
In terms of lj links and posts, I see it as a gray area. Blogs occupy an intermediate (liminal?) space between private listservs and public websites (I'm not talking technology, but rather how people treat them.) I personally try to avoid it outside of lj. A general rule of thumb might be don't do or say anything outside of the privacy of your own home that you wouldn't want to become public knowledge.
As far as the whisper campaings and intrigue go, I'm fairly disturbed by what has been going on in my local Pagan community, what seems to be going on in the Cleveland Pagan Community and in ADF, and even in national politics. (Is Vietnam really that important to 21st century America?) We need to be able to discuss differences of opinion in a calm, gentle manner without treating someone who may seem to disagree with us as an enemy. I truly believe that we are all children of the gods, and thus brothers and sisters. It's o.k. for people to have different religions and theologies, and to express those differences; but we're all still human. As my group has been working on a code of ethics, we included Integrity as one of the nine Druid virtues. I think half (not all, just half) of the world's problems would be solved if they followed this precept.
The Golden Rule is also a very good guideline. As the Hindu Mahabarata puts it, "This is the sum of duty: do not do to others what would cause pain if done to you." Society needs a certain amount of empathy to function.
Can we all get back to either minding our own business or trying to work together for the common good yet?
