|12:49 pm - Christmas bells those Christmas bells, ringing through the land!|
You're not late sending out Christmas cards until after all potential holidays are over, right?
FYI, I think I have a final list of who I'll send to. Several of you are on it. Anyone I get a card from is on it.
Now I just have to *do* it.
Fortunately, the ADF member Database has a good amount of my LJ friends listed with sharable info. . . I'd feel very uncomfortable using my position as an Office Elf to find addresses that were confidential :) Similarly, I'm happy that no one I know from school has listed their directory information as "do not release", because I'd feel similarly icky about digging for information in the student database. It's one thing to have access. . . it's a whole other thing to use it for personal stuff.
Going through my LJ friends list and the people I've met in ADF in the past year, I've realized that I've become much richer in friends, even if I'll be much poorer for the stamps I have to buy to send out. I added an entire page of addresses to my old list. And if I get a card from you, you can expect a card back, if not this year, than next year, or whenever I get around to it. :)
Of course, I will miss some people. For others, I simply don't have an address. There are also those who I don't even have a last name for (heck, for some of you, I still only have an LJ username). For still others, I'm meaning to send something nicer than just a card, but haven't gotten it together yet.
Last year, I failed miserably when it came to sending out cards. I actually think there might still be some stamped ones sitting on a bookshelf somewhere that never made it to the post office (so some of you might get last year's card, too, if I'm feeling silly).
This year, they're late. Very late. But not as late as they were two years ago, when I sent them on Christmas Eve. On a bright note, I can point out that I wasn't alone: I had to stuff and shove the cards into the box that night, and they barely fit.
Three years ago I think they went out in September.
I am nothing if not inconsistent.
