|01:42 pm - Strange things under the earth. . .|
ninjer, I thought you should hear about this:
Over the past few days, I've been watching an excavation occur next to McCracken Power Plant just outside the windows on the stairwell I use, and I can see it from the window of my office here in Baker Systems.
Last week, they opened a hole I the ground. It wasn't a large hole, but they broke through on my lunch hour as I was walking down the stairs, and I stopped to watch for a minute. The workers looked confused, and I watched them talk on radios for a while until I got bored and went to lunch.
On my way back, though, they were filling in the hole as fast as they could. Not with concrete or anything sane, like stuff construction workers would usually use; no, they were using a bulldozer to fill it in with rocks and debris. . .
I'm wondering if maybe they uncovered something they weren't supposed to while they were digging, and needed to get it re-filled quickly.
In particular, do you think it's possible that they uncovered the tunnels from your entry a few weeks ago? I mean, they were certainly moving fast.
And when I look out today, I see that they're still digging, though in a different spot, and I don't see any of the same guys working. . . There's no question that they are emphatically not digging in the same spot, and it almost looks like they're avoiding where that hole was. . .

Yes. Some people have even made timid forays into them. . . but it's best of those somebodies remain namless on a public forum :)
There were/are tunnels underneath West Chester University
; they've been blocked off for probably ten years now, but a few years before I got there, someone made a "horror" movie using the tunnels, as well as some of the woods just outside the town. I always wanted to find a way into the tunnels.
When I was in Oxford (ugh, namedropper...), one of the houses at Manchester College had a "secret" tunnel that supposedly lead to the pub at the corner of the next block. Couldn't check it out, since the door was bolted shut. Damn.
I dig tunnels, as long as I'm not riding through one in a car (silly little phobias...)
That's okay. I drop "Harvard" all the time :)
Tunnels are grand :)

In unrelated news, two psych wards reported to Channel 10 news that they have had three times the number of voluntary check-in's. The report states that these people are mostly artistic and have all had similar nightmares dealing with a large creature with tentacles on its face, plaguing OSU.
Most of the affected people checked in under Clinical Depression. They felt this way after waking up and finding out that Cthulhu did not in fact eat the entire Football Team.
One patient said "The dreams weren't that bad, but I was so sure that the Buckeyes' were really and finally gone. God Damn It!"
The patient later committed suicide by eating buckeyes.

Ratatosk, Squirrel of Discord lives in a small nest, made of oak leaves and located in the woods west of Delaware, Ohio.
Sometimes he sneaks about on OSU Campus.
Unrelated Note: If any of you would like to play in a Cthulhu Live game... let me know, I'm running one at OSU on March 5th.

Ah, but in my LARPS, there are giant Puppets, real looking zombies, Elder Gods, and even old Hastur.
Screw that rock paper sissors stuff ;-)
*Besides what do you mean 'save' against insanity? Everyone always ends up dead or insane.*
Thinking about it. Only issue is that it could be time spent with my high-quality girlfriend.
You should come to my presentation for osu_psa
on Feb. 15. The topic is "Something Involving Tentacles", and I promise it'll be a hell of a good time.
Details pending, but Bruce Campbell
will at least be mentioned. I'm thinking of perhaps having a showing of Evil Dead after the meeting. :)

Those poor kids... what are you doing to their little minds?
Obviously, you should come see. It's the only way to really understand, I think.

your high-quality girlfriend can come. We all like her. Those of us that know her.
Haha. I'll have to let her know that she's invited. :)
What time was this? Sometime in the afternoon when I was walking by, I think to math class around 1:30 or 2:30 yesterday, I noticed the digging had gone much deeper and my gaze was attracted to a man with a welder doing something nearby, sending up a spray of vibrant orange sparks. It all looked very officious and important, but when I looked again at the hole off to the right it looked like they were... I derno, filling it up hastily with random crap like big broken rocks. I didn't walk beside it today, so I haven't noticed their behaviour, but it must be interestin to be keeping a daily progress of it. Strange it's different people, although I have to say that those men are always lurking about as if avoiding something, probably more work. I always used to feel awkward walking by them on the way to class because they would be sitting around just watching me. o.o
And I thought I might be the only person who noticed the strange activity. Did it not appear that the hole went down forever? The day they opened it, I looked down in, and it just disappeared into blackness.
My lunch hour is from noon to 1 PM, so that's about the right time. They might have opened a second shaft yesterday. . . I don't know, as I didn't go out that way yesterday. If so, they should really watch where they're going.
It fills me with curiousity and makes me want to creep out there at the god-forsaken hours with my head-lamp on, ready for adventure. Only I really don't want to get eaten by something like sewer rats or Cthulu or underpaid hungry construction workers.
Man, we were just joking about the Black Pit of Despair in the arboretum, but maybe found they found by accident. Shit, would it be weird to stop and ask them about it?
If you're brave enough, be my guest. I'm really just a big chicken when it comes to Elder Gods.
I bet if asked about it, they will deny any and all knowledge of it.
You're probably right.
"What hole? Oh, you mean the one to the magical realm of fairies and boogymen! Yeah, get outta here."

Hehe. Of course :)
But it doesn't have everything. . .
