|01:44 pm - The Devil and a small agreement always seem like good ideas. . .|
I spent most of last night reading about encouters with Old Scratch, and I now firmly believe that if I ever go hiking in New England, I'm very likely to meet the Lord of Lies himself.
Current Mood: amused
Current Music: "Johnny B. Goode", -JB
You need to go to New England. Contrary to the belief of morons, it is not all just "one big state".
Seeing how I was born in New England and see all states within the US as separate, I'm afraid I haven't the slightest of what you're talking about. :)
I loved my time in New England. I didn't manage to meet Scratch though. Probably because I don't believe in him ;) I'm definitely planning a vacation there again this fall.

Ahh, you don't have to believe in him. He believes enough for the both of you.
LOL!! have his secretary get with me and we'll see if we can squeeze something into my vacation itenerary

You smile now, but you have no idea how diabolical certain areas of the New England forests feel . . .
Your icon brought a smile to ym face.
Red Oak Grove goes camping in the Pine Barrens in NJ. This is also the area of the Jersey Devil. My boyfriend's mother is always worried when we go camping down there, thinking the Jersey Devil will show up one of these days.
I might just have to go camping with your Grove sometime :)
C'mon along! Ya gotta make it out to us on of these times...
You're damn straight I have to make it out there sometime. Your Grove's high on the list of ones to visit.
One day I'll have to make a list.

Re: Thinking back to the abduction of an executive and stories told by my mother
I'm sure the mafia is a much bigger problem. That, or Pinies.
The Pine Barrens are truly have a weird feel to them. (sigh) I'm missing ROG this week...
South Jersey itself has a weird vibe, between the Jersey Devil, the pirates down the shore (Blackbeard at least), the Blue Hole of Windslow, and even shark attacks.
Yeah, I dig it. :)
Cool! So thats where he's been hanging out.
I'm afraid that the Devil will never catch me sawin' on a fiddle and playin' it hot.

is that largely because you don't so much fiddle?
Yes. It would be quite the poor wager on my part.
I looked through your post really, really fast and I honestly thought you wrote that you "planned on meeting the Lord of the Flies." Whoops!
Well, that's another name for him, so I suppose it might have been that, too :)
True, but I was thinking island-mode William Goldman (it would suck if I got the author's name wrong!)
