Must be willing/able to dig.
Must be willing/able to run like hell.
Ownership of a truck is a bonus.
Knowledge of pouring/molding concrete a plus.

Objective:

To plant a tree.

Seriously. I have found the perfect spot. But I want to plant a tree and include a plaque that matches the other ones around, and that is at least slightly humourus.

And there she was. . .

So on Monday afternoon, I was sitting alone at the front desk, minding my own business. Seriously.

I looked up when I heard the click*click of heels on the floor outside the door. I admit a certain curiosity at this point, but through years of school in KY, I've learned that the sound of womens' shoes can herald either a lady or a cowboy-wannabe.

Well, a woman walked through the door. Tall and blonde, she smiled at me and walked up to the desk.

She started talking, asking about software and a few other things. I got lost pretty quickly in her accent, though, and eventually had her repeat a lot of what she said (mostly so I could hear it again).

I noticed a problem with her account and went out of my way to fix it for her, saving her about 2 or 3 days of headaches and issues.

I talked a bit about the policies regarding the software, and she settled on on particular piece. I got out the books to loan it, and passed it across the table to her, along with her ID.

"It's due back on Thrusday."

With the slightest twinkle in her blue eyes, she smiled and said, "See you on Thursday, then."

I had a sudden feeling of deja vu. . .

New Chant

Brian and I created a new chant that I think you should all learn.

It's a processional, and it's meant to be sung in a call response manner.

It's meant to be slowly intoned, as seriously as possible.
Leader: "Are we there yet?"
Followers: (sharply) "NO!"
Leader: "Are we there yet?"
Followers: (sharply) "NO!"
Leader: "Are we there yet?"
Followers: (sharply) "NO!"
Leader: "Are we there yet?"
Followers: (sharply) "NO!"

Upon finally coming to the sacred space, it follows as this:
Leader: "Are we there yet?"
Followers: (sharply) "YES!"

Go ahead, tell me I'm a brilliant liturgist.

Heck, I think I'll post it to the liturgist's email list!

Songs. . .

Caught this like it was a virus from several of you, but triadruid in particular.

What song, if any, reminds you of me?

***Put this in your journal too. The answers might surprise you***

Freewriting . . .

You know, I'm sitting here, after work, and chatting, and I've decided on a bit of free-writing, only stopping long enough to correct a typo or three. I'm thinking about this song I'm listening to, "All the Ways I Want You" by Buffett (who else?) and I'm wondering a bit at how it affects me. Thinking primarily of Tina, and how I just don't tell her enough that I love her. Thinking of wonderful things left unsaid for good reason (or bad, depending on who you ask), and really enjoying the craziness of my thoughts. Despite the song being slow, I'm thinking quite rapidly, and typing just a bit slower :) So there's little chance of me actually capturing my thoughts.

I was thinking of another stream of conciousness (1, 2) essay/entry because I enjoyed them when I did them last summer. Hm, song change. Hey, triadruid, it's "Boat Drinks". . . Crazy.

And now I'm thinking I have to get home, because there's a good lookin' woman waiting there and I shouldn't be chatting while she's at home with the other man. Catch ya'll tomorrow.
