Ohio State Fencing Claims National Title

-- The Ohio State fencing team won its first-ever NCAA National
Collegiate Fencing Championship this weekend in Waltham, Mass. The
Buckeyes outscored second-place Penn State by 34 points en route to
the national crown. The Buckeyes won 97 bouts in both the men's and
women's competition. Individually, sophomore Adam Crompton
defended his 2003 sabre crown and won the title bout. Freshman Boaz
Ellis went 24-1 in duals to claim the title in foil. Juniors Hanna
Thompson and Louise Bond-Williams claimed the bronze medal in foil
and sabre, respectively.
