|08:03 am - Friends don't give out friends' email addresses to corporations|
Um, yeah. I kinda don't have a cell phone.
Please stop giving my email address to weird SMS and mobile clients. It's exceedingly impolite and rude. If you've given it, please withdraw it. I'm tired of getting spam from them, and I'm not going to confirm that my email address is legit so they can sell it later.
I mean it, it's really, really fucking annoying.
btw: that goes for those filthy third-party internet address books, too, especially the ones that send email out to your friends asking them to "update their information" for you. Get a hard-copy address book if you're that godsdamned forgetful.

No, I don't. Hotmail is evil :) I actually have a gmail account. I just rarely use it. The osu servers have treated me well thus far.
But thanks very much for the offer.
Ah, yes, the free OSU servers.
I used to have a hotmail account a few years back. It got too buried in spam so I stopped using it. Mostly I use yahoo now, which has been pretty good. I've got gmail, too, but I've been limiting that one to business stuff.
My ISP's web interface generally sucks ass & my school's server is shit.
Hm. I had the exact opposite experience. My Hotmail account seems to have an excellent spam filter, but the old Yahoo! account wound up with over a hundred spams for penis enlargers a day. I don't even have a penis to begin with! :-)

Hmm, I wonder how good the OSU servers really are treating you, if they allow all that spam to get to you. Much of the spam directed toward me (and hardly any legit mail) comes through OSU. But I have spamassassin on DrakNet tuned so it gets rid of most of it.
We have no spam filtering, but we don't really need it.
The amount I get isn't that much, but the point here is that I'd like to keep it that way.
I'd say that, tops, I get 10-20 on a really rough spam day. On a good day I get zero.
And I'm working to lower the amount every day. My efforts are paying off some.
