I saw your plans for DMF '06. Those are some tough trails to hike or backpack. I know you're in shape but, damn. Take water, take LOTS of water. Do you want a quick desert survival course or lesson in edible plants of the desert before you go?

It is usually a good idea to wait a while before dating again after such a long relationship, I didn't so take that for what little it may be worth. I didn't want a boyfriend again so soon and thought that I'd avoid it by just finding a FB to have some fun with. Well it sure was fun, and now... he's my boyfriend. Not that I'm complaining, too much. Kudos to you for waiting a while.

I'm not concerned about the difficulty. It's a series of short hikes (I think the longest is 16 miles or so), and I know where there's water if I need it. I'm no more than a day away from water at any point, as Manning Camp has it year-round. I've hiked in the desert before, and really enjoy it. One just needs to be very careful is all.

If I get to Rincon and can't find water, I'll skip the summit and hike back to Manning, which is only about 10 miles (about 5 hours of walking).

Plus, I have two buddies to hike with.
