|09:13 am - Home sick|
I'm home being sick today (as I was yesterday).
But damn, nothing makes me miss work like daytime TV. No wonder the American people are so stupid.
But, unfortunately, if I fail to go to the bank today, I may bounce a check. That's never happened, and I don't intend it to happen now. So, off to the bank sometime soon.
After I feel like I can move again, perhaps.
Current Mood: sick
Current Music: "Uncle John's Band", -JB
hope you feel better soon.
and yes, there's nothing like daytime teevee to jumpstart my immune system. at least sci fi network runs like 3 deep space 9 episodes and 3 next generation episodes all day. it may not be high-brow intellectual stimulation, but it beats maury povich and dr. phil.
I hope you feel better soon ... <3
Sorry you're feeling crummy. Feel better soon.
Eat TONS of garlic. That'll fix just about anything.

I concur. If garlic can't fix it, it's not of this earth.
Chicken and/or Matzo ball soup with lots of pepper, garlic and celery. It'll burn out whatever might be ailing you. It might make you hurl too, but you'll feel better afterwards.
And yes, nothing makes me want to go back to work more than sitting on the couch watching daytime TV. I actually get more out of watching my kid's channel, Noggin, than network.
At least on Noggin I'm learning how to count.
If you're nausious at all, ginger will help settle your stomach, even ginger ale.
When I was a kid, my mom gave me ginger ale & saltines to help me feel better when I was sick. Oddly, I associate ginger ale with feeling better & saltines with being sick. /end odd tangent....
Hope you feel better soon! Being sick in the summer especially sucks.
blech...ginger just makes me feel Oogier (tm). if you find that's the case, then mint tea seems to help those who can't do ginger (and vice versa).
I second the ginger. Eating raw ginger root is NASTY, but it works like a charm.
I'm also a big fan of the traditional chicken noodle soup. At the very least, it makes a good comfort food.
Feel better soon. And yeah, daytime television is somewhat lacking (particularly for those without cable). There does seem to be all-day Star Trek on Spike network... and hey, let's not forget about Bob Barker. :)
If there's one thing I learned years ago from Price Is Right, it's to never play a game where you're penalized more for your decisions depending on how far off the mark you are. Like "Lucky Seven" for instance (unquestionably the hardest way to win a car on that show).
But yeah, take care of business and get well. Then go win a car.
oh yeah...the ST marathon is the only thing that's been keeping me sane on days i'm home this summer :)
Glad you found some reading to save you from the TV. I TOLD you commercials are both unfathomable and intolerable, that's why I can't watch them without squirming or yelling "WHAT THE HELL!" :P You should have just watched one of nine million movie you and Tina-banina own.
Anyway, hope you are feeling better every minute.
Oh, I had some help feeling better, but thank you for the well-wishes. :)
feel better sweetie-- I don't want to get sick at Summerland!
Haha, how would you get sick? Planning on making out with me?
