|02:05 pm - Buffett, choices, oracles, and friends. . .|
"You know all the rules by now, and the fire from the ice."
Damn straight, I do.
But damnit, I need to get a copy of Hot Water, one of the few Buffett albums I never bought. There's a particular song that, reading the lyrics, I realize I need to buy. This is one of two albums I have been told never to purchase (the other being Floridays) because they fall into the category of "Mitty doesn't like these," which is enough reason for me, in general. I already have most of the good songs off those albums (Buffett has a tendency to fill albums with songs from previous albums as "filler", so you might buy an album and get one or two songs that you don't already have), but the song that's standing out is one I've never heard.
It goes with the quote above, from "Uncle John's Band", which Buffett covered on the album Fruitcakes.
Over the past couple of days, I've come to some realizations that have made me very happy. I'm just not ready to talk about them outside of the normal verbal arguments I occasionally have with myself in the shower or in the car. They may make me happy, but they're also pretty scary.
Btw, that Jimmy Buffett Oracle some have requested? It's nearly finished.
Gods, I'm looking forward to tomorrow all of a sudden. I expect to eat cereal, watch cartoons, putz around on the computer, and wait for someone to ring my phone.
And I just got an e-mail address from an old friend. Today is good.
Current Mood: amused
Current Music: "One Particular Harbor", -JB
You have, you just don't know it. "Come Monday", "Margaritaville", and "Son of a Son of a Sailor" have probably gotten more airplay than anything else until recently. He had his first number 1 hit in the summer of 2004 and his first number 1 album in summer 2005.
Maybe I'll just send you a CD.
That's what I was, but I still knew enough to sing along the first few times I heard it. :)
