These are not pictures of the weird rite we did today!

Oh well, this could be fun. If I can actually think of questions. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

1. Name a place, if there is one, where you would never, ever go.

2. What do you do / how do you work with Agni?

3. Why do you never go home for the holidays?

4. What is your favourite method of expressing love?

5. What's your favourite part of the female body to touch?

6. When will you admit that you secretly love square dancing and want to take it with me? :D

7. What do you do when/if one of your pets dies? (I didn't mean that to be morbid... er...)

8. At what point do you know that a person is now your friend?

9. Have you ever read the Count of Monte Cristo?

10. Has a movie ever made you want to cry before? If so, which?

11. What would your ideal home-town be like?

12. Have you ever wondered what it would be like to a foot shorter than you are?

13. Are you going to volunteer at High Banks?

14. How long are you content to work at Baker? Are you hoping for a more satisfying and better-paying job someday, or is it satisfying?

15. Name the geographical climate (desert, mountains, ocean, bayou, tundra, etc, etc, etc) that you would most like to visit.

1. Name a place, if there is one, where you would never, ever go.

CDG. I imagine it's unaviodable to have a return trip, though.

2. What do you do / how do you work with Agni?

Generally speaking, I don't. Children who play with fire get burned. And I am nothing if not a child.

3. Why do you never go home for the holidays?

I need those vacation hours for festivals. And someone put Wellspring on Memorial Day, which bites, and then Summerset ends up on Labor Day. Stupid festival planners.

4. What is your favourite method of expressing love?

Small things. Things that don't say "love" outright, but when added together, do.

5. What's your favourite part of the female body to touch?

That crease, between where the thigh meets the hip. It's always been my favourite.

6. When will you admit that you secretly love square dancing and want to take it with me? :D

I will never admit to that! Never!

7. What do you do when/if one of your pets dies? (I didn't mean that to be morbid... er...)

See the answer here.

8. At what point do you know that a person is now your friend?

It's exactly like realizing you're in love with someone. At some point, you just know.

9. Have you ever read the Count of Monte Cristo?

No, but it's on the list.

10. Has a movie ever made you want to cry before? If so, which?

I say "Yes", but I cannot remember what movies they have been. But I have not cried since my grandfather died, so as far as I know, I have never cried at a movie.

11. What would your ideal home-town be like?

Like it is now, I imagine.

12. Have you ever wondered what it would be like to a foot shorter than you are?

It'd be like seeing the world from your angle.

I wouldn't be happy with being 5'4" with shoes on, personally. I hear that girls don't like short guys, for one, and for another, I hear that short guys have complexes about being short.

13. Are you going to volunteer at High Banks?

That's the plan, but I can't until the festival season gives me a free weekend or three to line something up, like to actually go in.

14. How long are you content to work at Baker? Are you hoping for a more satisfying and better-paying job someday, or is it satisfying?

I am always looking for a better-paying job, and I'm not necessarily looking for one close to home. I've sent out resumes in the past to some strange places. The compensation has never been worth losing the educational benefits of OSU, though. Those are what tie me to this job, the most.

15. Name the geographical climate (desert, mountains, ocean, bayou, tundra, etc, etc, etc) that you would most like to visit.

Mountains. Gimme them mountains.

In regards to 3:
I meant more like Thanksgiving or Christmastime, times when it is traditional to be with family and most people get off work. This also makes me curious about another thing... I hope it doesn't sound rude, but you place ADF (spiritual family) as a priority over blood family?

RE 6: Liar!!

RE 13: Hooray, I'll let you know when *I* get my ass out there and turn that thing in. Keep in mind you can go after work any day, too, although it is less convenient.

RE 15: Excellent! Let's go visit some sometime. :)

No, I do not place ADF above my family or my friends.

Regarding Thanksgiving and Christmas, though: I don't get a lot of time off for either, and most of the time that time off has to be spent doing something else.

More importantly, though, I stay home, I keep working because I recognise that co-workers have children that they need to spend time with, wives or husbands that they need to be with, and me, I'm single. I can see my family on a weekend. If I'm not in Chicago for Easter, maybe two of my co-workers are spending time with their children or parents who live so much further away. I can give them that.

Plus, Tina has a need to see her family that I don't have. She needs to be around her family for Christmas, so I watch the cats to give her that time. We cannot both leave.

It is as simple as that.

Very considerate and sweet. :) I was not at all trying to be accusing, just curious. My family I can see whenever I want, but they would nontheless be deeply insulted if I did not show up for Christmas. Hell, my brother will probably fly home from California just to be there. Mayeb not every year, but at first... yeah. We don't go to church together or anything, so I'm not really sure WHY that is... it just is. And as your situation tends to be very different, I was wonder if your family visited your or if you had something else worked out or whatever.

Definitely got ot watch the cats. I've been thinking about cats a lot lately and how beneficial it would probably be to get one sooner than later, since now there are four and there will be six who can take care of the cat. A number of us could take it home with us, too, in the event we all leave (say, Christmas.) But, I just don't know... I worry about allergies. :\

1. Travel - Most people have a favourite place to travel to. What's yours, and why haven't you been there since last time?

Do you mean the actual act of travelling or the getting there?
If you mean the actual destination, Butternut Lake, Wisconsin. I LOVE it.

It's full of mud and crawfish and cold water and bonfires and hiking and biking and canoing and snorkeling and awesome grandma cooking and awesome grandpa fishing lore and and and I miss it so badly. I haven't been there in two years, though, because the last two summers were devoted to money, meaning that I couldn't take that much time off of work (especially last summer, since I had a "real" job.) This summer, if I go back to Greif, I will definitely ask for the time to do it... because I miss it. And it might be the last time both of my brothers and I all do something together for a good 6 years.

This might mean I give up Summerland, Summerset, or one of the other weekend events.. Currently, it's all up in the air. I want to be there with my grove (my spiritual family), but I owe primary allegiance to my blood family.

If you are talkin' favourite place to travel TO, I'd say Hocking Hills / Tar Hollow / other Ohio State Parks in the autumn. The further away the better -- I LOVE long drives under a crisp blue autumn sky with all the leaves changing colours. :)

2. Religion - Are you at the point where every fire you see is Agni, from bonfires to cigarttes?

No. My relationship with Agni is curious.

There is also the fact that I have a fundamental "base layer" sort of paganism beneath all of this. Before the "Earth Mother," I honour the Earth, for example. I honour the ocean because it is the ocean and that in itself is holy to me, not because the ocean is sacred to Mannanan, who in other spheres I also honour. I sometimes have trouble conceptualizing deities. Nature, on the other hand, always makes sense and is always overtly magical/sacred. Fire is something that I have always revered. I may come to strongly associate it with Agni, but Fire will always be Fire foremost.

This is the same reason why, though I clearly love rocks, I do not associate them with deities. I do not even link stones and caverns with the "Earth Mother". Rock, to me, is its own essence, its own nameless god -- it cannot be said that I worship rocks solely as material lumps, but neither can be it said that I honour the spirit and idea of rocks as though it were a particular deity.

Sorry, tangent. It's part of what I need to be thinking/writing about here soon, but haven't had time. :)

3. Family - I need a difinitive count: how many siblings do you actually have?

*laughs* I have two brothers, Rob and John/Gio. Rob is the Mountaineer/black-belt/Chemical engineer who goes to OSU and hangs out with me when it's possible. He'll be going to UC Santa Barbara for his PhD. John is the older one who lives in Kentucky with his partner Brian and just got his masters in business. :)

4. Love - Where is the best place to find love?

Beneath a wild sky.

5. Sex - What one thing can always make you feel sexy?

A slightly possessive touch, as per someone's hands creasing around a hip, wrapping around my waist and pulling me closer, tangling in my hair with a little bit of command. I suppose this could be equated with somebody else's veiled or unveiled expression of desire -- when somebody ESLE seems to think that I'm sexy, I cannot help but respond. :)

Rhythmic music also seems to work unconditionally, as does ... well, happiness, sometimes. :) It's weird, but sometimes when I look hideous because my hair is all rain-soaked or I'm covered in mud or I just spilled ice-cream on my lap or etc etc... I am surprised to feel suddenly sexy despite that when I am completely overcome with mischief and mirth. :)

6. Hobbies - Will urban amulets become a primary hobby of yours?

Nope. I don't even like them that much. :) They were fun to make, and i like to find magic in the gutter, but looking so closely at the ground detracts attention from the trees and the sky. I find I'm less likely to pray or meditate when walking when looking for amulet stuff, too, which is no good.

7. Pets - Why doesn't Indy have a fedora and whip hanging above his cage?

Because we are always using the whip and fedora to run our business and tend to leave them in bedrooms.

8. Friendship - How does LJ affect your friendships?

People run the risk of using it as a substitute. Many people love who I am on LJ, which is good, but it's not ALL that I am. They only get a few sides of me.

LJ is also good, though -- I have found that I tend to keep friends I just casually make at festivals or conventions when I give them my LJ and they friend me, and that way I can stay in touch with them even if I hardly ever see them. People also become my friend out of th eblue because of it, which is exciting! :)

9. Literature - What would you like to write?

Things I cannot explain or convey even in my rambles on LJ. Why we have an urgent if buried need to feel mud drying on our skin. Why we go hungry if we can't drink sky. Why everybody should hold a crawfish at least once. How people know they love each other without ever saying a word.

10. Movies - What movie could best be described as "life changing" to you?

Fern Gully. :)

11. Home town - Where is home with you?

I don't know. I'm still looking. I think I might have lots of them, but most of them are people and people move around.

12. Physical Appearance - What do you look for in a potential significant other that turns you on most?

The overall mannerism of him, I suppose. You can get a pretty good idea of a man's eagerness, enthusiasm, health, and vitality just by looking at him, and physiques that appear healthy and well-kept especially draw me in. I don't mean groomed hair or nice clothes, either -- I mean the healthiness that shine through his skin, the confidence that radiates out through his movements, the amiability and good-naturedness that plays about his mouth. An attractive mouth is just as important as eyes -- wet, nervous, toothy, acne-lined, or otherwise unpleasant mouths turn me off.

13. Volunteer Work - How about you: did you turn your application in at High Banks yet?

Nope. Haven't been there on lunch break in a while because of weird crazy things. Might not get too this week, either, but soon. Maybe I should just take a trip after classes or work sometime.

14. Life Goals - What will it take to make your goals in life come true?

Everything I have. I wouldn't be satisfied if they took anything else.

15. The World - Where are you in it?

I'm not. The World is a beautiful and intriguing ball that I am playing four square with. Who the other plays are has yet to be determined; they change. Sometimes friends determine its direction, or family, or gods, or anonymous business people. The point is that all of us play and have as much fun as possible until we get tired and take turns sitting out. Sometimes the ball slams me in the face and makes my eyes water. Sometimes I accidentally nail somebody in the nuts!
