Your comments are getting long, I better get in while I get a chance. I guess I asked more than one question for a few, but they may be related.

1. What place have you yet to go that you want to go the most? When will be the next time you take a long trip for a reason other than a festival? When are you coming to Seattle?:-)
2. How do you think our first religious experiences at Zion as an initial foundational path effect your road to discover your true faith? If we had grown up in a Pagan church do you think your views on life or religion would be any different?
3. How would you rate the communication among our extended family?:-p Is there any particular member outside of mom, dad, and me that you feel closer to? If we had to have another sibling would you rather they be older than you, younger than me, in the middle, boy or girl?
4. What do you cherish most about love?
5. Do you feel sex before marriage is required to know truly for sure if you really want to be with that person?
6. Outside of anything to do with the outdoors or religion, what would you consider your favorite indoor hobby?
7. What was your favorite turtle of the ones you caught growing up. Runty, One of the Many Speedys, Tutti-Fruti, or No-Name. Do you prefer the turtles to the cats?
8. How long would you have to know someone and what would have to happen between you before you would consider them as a very close friend?
9. What was the most memorable book you read from the AP History courses in high school? What was the most influential book you read as you were making your path to druidism?
10. What was the most influential movie you saw as a kid? What was your favorite in the last 10 years?
11. Would you have preferred to have lived in one home town our entire childhood? Do you think the moves were good for getting new experiences and meeting different kinds of people, or does it give you more of a sense of home town identity crisis?
12. How can we look so similar, but you get so many more women:-p? Which physical feature which you are unable to change bothers you the most? Which do you like the most?
13. What do you think was the best, most helpful volunteer project you ever were a part of?
14. What is your biggest career goal? Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
15. Has your world view changed considerably in the last 10 years? What caused any changes to your views?

Tricksy, how you keep asking more than one question :)

1. What place have you yet to go that you want to go the most? When will be the next time you take a long trip for a reason other than a festival? When are you coming to Seattle?:-)

Chatres, Rome, and Olympus are all on that list. I'm planning to go to Kansas around July 4 at the moment and do some work. I hope to get to Seattle in the near future, hopefully before September, but I'm not sure about that.

2. How do you think our first religious experiences at Zion as an initial foundational path effect your road to discover your true faith? If we had grown up in a Pagan church do you think your views on life or religion would be any different?

When I hear "religious experiences", I think of the actual term as applied by religious studies scholars, so my answer is pretty simple: there were no religious experiences, which is why I didn't feel weird about leaving. I suppose most correctly, it gave me something to compare later experiences to. And so any inkling of feeling "religious" was something I latched onto and followed until that feeling dried up or got explained away.

My views on life and religion would have been radically different had I been raised Pagan. I'm not sure I'd be nearly as good a person if I had not had the upbringing I did. I also think I probably would have fallen into the trap of Christian-bashing that so many Pagans fall into, where they define themselves primarily as "not Christian" rather than as Pagan. There's a lot about me that I know comes from being raised in the UCC that I wouldn't change for anything.

3. How would you rate the communication among our extended family?:-p Is there any particular member outside of mom, dad, and me that you feel closer to? If we had to have another sibling would you rather they be older than you, younger than me, in the middle, boy or girl?

Poor :) At least, trickle-down is the only method of communication I really get. Mom seems intimately connected with so many people, but me, I rarely hear from any of them.

As for other siblings, I'd definitely want one younger than you. I like being oldest (going through a lot of things first helped immensely), and I'd hate to have someone who could beat up on me like I did to you. . . *weak grin*

4. What do you cherish most about love?

The fact that it doesn't really require nurturing to grow. It often just happens.

5. Do you feel sex before marriage is required to know truly for sure if you really want to be with that person?

I don't even think sex during marriage is required, but then, I'm weird :) But no, I've been positive about that without sex ever entering the equation before, and it'll happen agian.

6. Outside of anything to do with the outdoors or religion, what would you consider your favorite indoor hobby?

Trying to beat the Legend of Zelda without a sword. I still think it can be done, though it appears that passing level 4 is problematic. But I have one last thing I can try.

7. What was your favorite turtle of the ones you caught growing up. Runty, One of the Many Speedys, Tutti-Fruti, or No-Name. Do you prefer the turtles to the cats?

Tutti was my favourite, I think. We had her/him the longest. But the only one I have a picture of is one of the Speedy's.

8. How long would you have to know someone and what would have to happen between you before you would consider them as a very close friend?

The world record is held by erienc, who became one of my closest friends in about 30 minutes. The time varies with people, though, and most of my friends are women. Guys have a hard time becoming close friends with me.

9. What was the most memorable book you read from the AP History courses in high school? What was the most influential book you read as you were making your path to druidism?

A World Lit Only By Fire by William Manchester for #1, and for #2, I'd have to say that it was the book that introduced me to the term "Druid", which was the AD&D 2nd Edition Player's Handbook. Shameful as it is to say that. But I wouldn't have ever found a term if it weren't for that book. There are many, many books more influential on the actual path, but I found the path through that book.
10. What was the most influential movie you saw as a kid? What was your favorite in the last 10 years?

Probably Braveheart, I think. I just really liked it, and it got me interested in military history, too. My favourite in the last ten years might just be Amelie, a French film. If you ever get a chance, see it.

11. Would you have preferred to have lived in one home town our entire childhood? Do you think the moves were good for getting new experiences and meeting different kinds of people, or does it give you more of a sense of home town identity crisis?

I think I ended up deciding to like the moving around. It may bave been more of a self-defense mechanism, but I don't think I'd trade it.

12. How can we look so similar, but you get so many more women:-p? Which physical feature which you are unable to change bothers you the most? Which do you like the most?

1) I have no idea, but I did spend a very long time in front of the mirror practicing ways of looking at others, learning how to grin, how to stand in such a way to look larger and more noticible, and how to get another person's attention. Plus, there are the non-physical things I do, like sit and listen and remember key things.

2) I'm not happy with my weight, which I seem unable to change at this point in time. I'm woefully underweight and need to pack on some pounds. As for what I like, I'd say my eyes are the best unchangable things about me.

13. What do you think was the best, most helpful volunteer project you ever were a part of?

The Habitat for Humanity service project I did for my Life rank. It was fun, and we really did do a lot of good.

14. What is your biggest career goal? Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

Retain a job that keeps me in academics. I cannot leave the field. In 10 years, it would be nice to be teaching and writing.

15. Has your world view changed considerably in the last 10 years? What caused any changes to your views?

I'm not so worried about women. I think this has to do with the fact that I now recognise that within all women, there's something to love, and also that I don't really need to worry about seeking them out. I can live my life with the women I love being merely close friends, and I will be happy with that.

1. Travel - Going to Greece? People seem interested to know :)
2. Religion - You seem to be searching. Where are you thinking of looking first?
3. Family - Everyone thinks their family is weird. Tina and I used to hold discussions about whose was weirder. Do you think ours is? (I lost most of those discussions, hands down)

5. Sex - Same question back at you: Sex before marriage: important or silly?
6. Hobbies - I have no idea what you do in your spare time outside of study. Care to give me a hint?
7. Pets - Have any at the moment?
8. Friendship - You place a lot of value on this. Do you think you work too hard at it, or not hard enough?
9. Literature - I've always been an avid reader (mostly of fictional trash, mind), but you never struck me as that. Has that changed in the past couple years?
10. Movies - What's the first movie you remember?
11. Home town - Where do you consider "home?"
12. Physical Appearance - As you mention, we look almost the same. What do you think it is that needs to be added onto appearance to get the women, and why haven't you gotten it down yet?
13. Volunteer Work - What sorts of things do you volunteer for? If nothing, have you thought about that? It's a great way to meet women. :)
14. Life Goals - Sometimes, I worry you work too hard to think about the future, but I know that's not true. What are a few goals?
15. The World - Could you believe it was flat?

1. Travel - Going to Greece? People seem interested to know :)
-I really really want to, I have to see how the next few months turn out for me, financially and how these test results start coming back. As a magic eight ball would say "All signs point to yes" but I do need quite a bit more information before I salt it down.

2. Religion - You seem to be searching. Where are you thinking of looking first?
-For some reason, in my heart, I don't know if anything would work for me besides Christianity, but an organized version has yet to strike me the right way. I'd like to find out a little bit about everything though. I figure whatever happens, it will take a long time, and I doubt it will ever mean the same for me that it does for you.

3. Family - Everyone thinks their family is weird. Tina and I used to hold discussions about whose was weirder. Do you think ours is? (I lost most of those discussions, hands down)
-I really don't think our family is weird, just not very close, at least the extended family. Uncle Ken's wedding was interesting though. We're all rather similar, we just handle things in several different ways. That sort of makes it interesting though.

4. Love - Did you ever go on a second date with that one girl you asked me about your senior year?
-Senior year in college? Well, I went on three dates with that one. She's living somewhere in the south teaching elementary school. She became engaged last fall. All the girls I seriously liked in college are engaged or married at this point.

5. Sex - Same question back at you: Sex before marriage: important or silly?
-I have no experience, I just try to figure what other peoples thoughts are on this. I don't think it's vital, but heck, how would I know.

6. Hobbies - I have no idea what you do in your spare time outside of study. Care to give me a hint?
-Right now nothing really. When I end up focusing on something like passing an exam like this, I try to eliminate as many time wasters as possible. It's still impossible to keep your mind in one place all the time though, and that's distracting enough.

7. Pets - Have any at the moment?
-No, while I love animals I don't think I'll have one until I get an excuse to have one. That may never happen. Maybe since the parents never let us have a dog or cat growing up, I just learned how to live without such things without a problem.

8. Friendship - You place a lot of value on this. Do you think you work too hard at it, or not hard enough?
-I haven't quite figured that out yet. I don't want a lot of friends. I'd really just like one or two, maybe three or four that I could be close with. Probably not many more than that, friends who I could really trust. Just so I could always have someone to talk to when I needed to and to not have to worry about what they're thinking. I don't think that's too much to ask of someone, I just don't think I've found it yet on a consistent basis with anyone.

9. Literature - I've always been an avid reader (mostly of fictional trash, mind), but you never struck me as that. Has that changed in the past couple years?
-Like with the hobbies, when I've been focused on something, I try to eliminate anything that could be a distraction. I remember really enjoying reading for classes, because it was something I had to do, and I almost always like what I end up reading. "World Lit only By Fire" was a favorite required read of mine too. I've read all 6 Harry Potter books. They don't last long though. Hopefully when I pass the tests I can find time to read stuff. I worry about having too many books and no place to put them though:-p I try to limit the amount of stuff I own. I think the vast majority of stuff I would end up choosing to read would be non-fiction.

10. Movies - What's the first movie you remember?
-The first movie I remember seeing in the Theatre I think was "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" I remember "Ghostbusters 2" giving me nightmares in 1989, but I think Roger Rabbit was before that. I'm sure we saw stuff before that, but my memory really doesn't go before 1988 as far as any pop culture, current events things go.(I remember sledding in KC and some preschool, but nothing about the outside world in those years)

11. Home town - Where do you consider "home?"
-Right now, Seattle. Purdue is home to. I never really claimed Illinois, but sometimes I default to that after the few awkward moments when people ask "So where are you from" cause I don't really have anywhere else to link to. As far as I'm concerned Seattle is it for now. Kansas & Kansas City sort of feel like home since it was the only consistent location we seemed to go back to growing up.
12. Physical Appearance - As you mention, we look almost the same. What do you think it is that needs to be added onto appearance to get the women, and why haven't you gotten it down yet?
-I actually have never had any desire to do anything drastic for the sole purpose of "getting a woman". I dunno, peer pressue has always had almost zero effect on me. I'd prefer that a woman like me because of who I am and not just some pretty picture. That's a dream, but it's a pretty big belief I have. Ah well.

13. Volunteer Work - What sorts of things do you volunteer for? If nothing, have you thought about that? It's a great way to meet women. :)
-yeah, I'm going to look for ways to fill all my time up hopefully once I pass these tests.

14. Life Goals - Sometimes, I worry you work too hard to think about the future, but I know that's not true. What are a few goals?
-I dunno, I'm a lot happier if I feel like I have a direction I'm going in I think. There were several times in college where I had no idea what I wanted to do and it was really depressing. At least now, I feel like I'm going somewhere. Even if I'm not incredibly passionate about it, at least I'm not miserable all the time.
-I'm always willing to sacrifice to do fun things today, I have a lot of trouble saying no to people though because I really want friends. This creates distractions and then I don't get much done and I have to deal with the consequences.

15. The World-Could you believe it was flat?
Nope, I could never believe that. It's not flat, that's all there is to it:-)
