Well, it looks like it's time to try FireFox again. LiveJournal has managed to make reading individual journals of people with certain kinds of layouts virtually impossible, so, as much as I'm dreading it, it looks like FireFox is going to be my next browser update.
And I so, so wanted to avoid this.
Why can't sites learn to use clean, easy HTML that doesn't mess up everything you want to read?
Time to join the latter-half of this decade.
Stupid LJ. Stupid FireFox.
I'm gonna miss this old bird. Alas, FireBird release 0.7, you have served me well.

Aww, now where's that sense of adventure of yours??
During the install process, it's cowering at home under the pretense of protecting my bookmarks, which were the biggest tragedy of the last installation.
Hrmmm...I wonder what would be suitable bait to lure it out from where it is cowering? I know chocolate likely won't work, but maybe *looks around cubicle* an apple?
That might just do it. We'll see how long it takes me to lose my bookmarks again.
The fact that, after installation, I can read LJ's that are not my own is an improvement I can live with. Gotta figure out how to turn off the default tabbed browsing crap, though.
"Default tabbed browsing crap"? Do you not use tabs, or is this some sort of 'enhancement' that they've done to the tabs?
According to the release notes, they have integrated tabbed browsing as the default when you click on a link that would normally open in a new window. Or such is how I read the release notes.
(figured I'd read them before installing, ya know?)
Not a bad idea, reading the release notes before installing. I should maybe do that someday.
As to that default behavior, why is that bad? I kinda prefer it that way myself.
I dislike tabbed browsing in general. I tend to see it more as flaw than feature.
And, of course, FireFox is refusing to import my bookmarks. Back to RTFM all over again.
FireFox is refusing to import my bookmarks.
Sorry to hear that. Sounds like it might be time to go home and watch some Batman Beyond. The bookmarks can wait for Monday.
Just got it, and just in time.
It only took three reinstalls, four restarts, six import/export functions, five deletions of impoperly listed bookmarks, and two angry "WTF!?!?!" shouts.
I'm most proud of the last bit.
And just in time. It's 5 PM.
Congrats and hope you enjoy your weekend!
Turning off tabs is super easy. Just... unclick the tabs option. :P
As on a brighter note, thanks to ME updating, I can now see your cockroach. Hee.
Tabbing is a FLAW???
I cannot even comprehend this. O_o;;
