Well, it looks like it's time to try FireFox again. LiveJournal has managed to make reading individual journals of people with certain kinds of layouts virtually impossible, so, as much as I'm dreading it, it looks like FireFox is going to be my next browser update.
And I so, so wanted to avoid this.
Why can't sites learn to use clean, easy HTML that doesn't mess up everything you want to read?
Time to join the latter-half of this decade.
Stupid LJ. Stupid FireFox.
I'm gonna miss this old bird. Alas, FireBird release 0.7, you have served me well.

Heh, IE6 *is* incompatible. Seriously. Ask any web developer. :-)
Most web developers (except the ones from the "make it work in IE and ignore other browsers and the interoperability standards" school of web development) would be much happier if IE6 were used by far less than the current ~80% of the audience. Every other browser actually follows standards sensibly, rather than (like MS) making up their own behavior because they don't like the standards.
Not to mention that IE6 is actually pretty old now - probably older than chronarchy
's Firebird 0.7, I believe. Though at least its age means that people know by now how to get around its oddities; IE7 will fix things but leave just enough unfixed to bring a whole new world of chaos to web developers.
OK, I'll stop ranting now.

Well, I know it's not the newest...but it's currently the best I can do... though, I must say, that of all the sites I visit, the only problems I have, are here at LJ...so from sitting in this chair, it certainly doesn't look like it's my problem *shrug*
Then again, my girlfriend uses IE7 & has many of the same issues I have here...
Also of note, the second most pupular browswer on my forums is IE6...of course, followed by the many versions of FF so it can't be that far off...can it?
Regardless though, I blame LJ, not any of the browsers...as it's here we all see to have the problems :D
