12:11 pm - Another cat? Oh, man.
The MJD/CAP animal shelter is again open for business.

(Perhaps Tina and I should call it "The MJD/CAP Cathouse". . . oh, the connotations. . .)

Should anyone be in need of a cat, I found this one on my way to work:

She was walking a bunch of girls to school.

I've never met anyone, human or animal, who liked me so much so soon upon meeting me. Darn social cat, pretty too, and she fell asleep in my lap after destroying my lunch this morning.

My ill-fated lunch, which she tore open and started eating immediately

Totally free to a good home.

If she isn't placed, she goes back on the street. We're looking for her original owners.

She's at the animal clinic being de-wormed and getting checked for spay.
Current Location: Southeast of Disorder
Current Mood: happyhappy
Current Music: "Fins", -JB

You can time-share her with _crow365__ if need be.

And yes, she is beautiful. And snuggly. If you thought Infinity was snuggly, Infin has nothing on this girl.

What do you mean by time-share?

I wonder, hwo hard is it to cat-proof a room? Because maybe I could somehow impossibly work out babysitting her for a while while Nick is deciding. If nothing else, she'll be in a good mood when she meets him, AND I will have had at least that tiny bit of experience with caring for a pet. I don't own any stuff for her, but I'd not be adverse to buying her some food or something for a night. But then... I have no idea what I'm talking about!! XD

You would require a litter box and two bowls, one for cat food and one for water, and then some dry food.

That's pretty much all a cat really requires.

Regarding cat-proofing, it's easy. You take everything that a cat could choke on and move it somewhere else. You take all things that are breakable (or otherwise "nice") and put them somewhere either very high, or in a drawer. Then you spend the night cuddling with a kitten.

MMm sounds nice. Although, I don't even have a closet *door*, so I don't know where I'd PUT any of this stuff (aka my altar.) Not that it would matter for a night or two, though...

You would be shocked at what a cat can do in "a night or two"

Haha, true. I don't know.

I would *really* like a cat and I could see it working out when Barwick comes back because she could take care of it for me when I left for home on break, or somebody could be bribed to catsit it. My room, upon contemplation, could be also arranged differently, although I wish I could keep her in the hallway/kitchen as well so the litterbox wouldn't be in my room. Michaela's not a big cat fan, though, and she'd have to keep her door closed if she didn't want it in... plus I wonder if we could keep her form upstairs. We also couldn't do this until after Frankie moved out in December. Hmmmm.

I am glad this has come up, because it's got me hard-core problem solving about what I would actually do. Sometimes i feel like I would be so much happier and less stressed out and lonely if I had something like a cat in my life. Hell, just look at all the joy my frickin' BETTA has given to me, and how careful I am to make sure it is cared for responsibly. I know I am mature enough for a cat. But I don't know how compatible my actual lifestyle is.

I think I could learn some good stuff about myself with regards to my major sticking points (allergies, room not being appropriate) just by trying and seeing how a night or two taking care of this cat would go. My final sticking point to actually KEEPING a cat has no immediate resolution in my mind, though, and that is me going to Spain and Europe next summer.

Whoah, that's amazing. I think your cat IS weird. ;)

Then again, I have no idea how these critters work.

I enjoy your icon. :)

Neither does mine-- Schmendrick just isn't that into playing the gravity game. Except when he's trying to wake me up for breakfast in the morning; he knows that the fastest way to get my attention out of a dead sleep is to start doing something he knows he shouldn't. Evil beastie. ;)
