10:55 am - Fat and happy, baby!
According to my University-provided health assessment, I am overweight and I need more exercise.

No wonder kids have image problems, if I am overweight.

Anyway, guess what this means?

I have a prescription to go hiking!

Sorry, it says I'm at the top end of normal (23)!

But I have to say that such a simplistic measure is inane. How do they know how much of those pounds are muscle vs. fat?

(But FWIW I now feel bad about jokingly calling you a fat-ass - see, that's why I didn't want to take it! One reason anyway :)

Haha. There's no reason to feel bad: it's pretty obvious that I'm not fat, even to me. (Despite my various struggles with body image throughout the years, there is no question that logically, I can recognize exactly where I am and I can be happy with that. Besides, as described above, I'll *never* make it to "not fat" without starving my fat ass within an inch of my life.)

They don't know, and that's a central issue with the BMI scale. It's also why I honestly don't think that children should be subjected to it, myself, particularly not as a set of "targets" in health and phys ed classes.

Nothin' like tellin' kids that they're overweight if they tip the scales just over a 25 BMI (like me)! That'll solve all their image issues!
