|02:58 pm - Summerland|
Coming up in a few weeks, we have the Summerland Gathering. For some of you, hopefully this post will remind you to register before the deadline (online registration ends on August 15th, yo, though you can also register at the gate). For others, maybe it'll spark an interest.
Summerland is a great festival. . . it holds a very special place in my heart. And this year, our Grove, Three Cranes, is helping to sponsor the festival (so, ya know, if you come, it supports our Grove, too!), which means that we'll be doing a lot of the heavy lifting for the festival, as well as running registration and a couple of rituals. In a lot of ways, we see this mostly as a chance to give back to The 6th Night Grove, ADF, who we affectionately remember as our very own "mother grove."
The schedule is shaping up nicely, and I know that a lot of people are coming, too, from all over the country (and possibly beyond, from what I hear). There's a meal plan for those who would like to purchase one, and fast food within about ten minutes of driving for those who don't.
Mostly, though, I'm looking forward to hanging out with folks I haven't seen in a while. There's too much time between Wellspring and Summerland for me, but it's to be expected. While I feel like I've been running pretty ragged recently with ADF stuff (Oh, you can't *imagine*. . . well, some of you can. . .), I know that Summerland is where to go to get it all back.
I hope to see as many of you there as possible (you can register here!). . . I'll be at registration on Thursday, wearing my brand new pocket protector and probably working on study program questions, which is what I ought to have been doing recently, anyway!
I simply cannot wait to get back into it all!
Current Location: Southeast of Disorder

Just registered last night! Can't wait to go!
But they really need to get a good web designer. The link to the online registration
is rather buried in there compared to the (two) links to the printable form. (And the printable form doesn't mention the meal plan, but that's not a web-design issue.)
*nods* I've never been fond of the layout. I'll pass on comments for next year, though :)
I did: it's mentioned in the entry, second to last paragraph!
I'm really looking forward to your workshop. I hope not to be working during it :)
Ha. I know I'm not interesting enough for people to hang on every word. I'm surprised most people even bother to skim my entries! :)
maybe a stupid question but... will the RDNA ritual make us first degree Reform Druids?
Actually I would! Only if your sure it is no problem for you though.
I am so excited to meet you in person like, well you and a lot of other folks. Manda, Chris, and I are coming down from Akron on Thursday.
Definitely, I'm looking forward to it, as well :)
And if you wear that hat, I won't even have to point you out to Jamie! <3
I'm very excited!
haha. If I can find it, I'll wear it :) It may be in a box of things I loaned out to a local coven who did a "Lammas Luau" this year, though. . .
It is, we will get it all back to you. Thank you so much for letting us use your great stuff! :)
Hehe. It's a brilliant hat. Karen, of 6th Night Grove got it for me, and I knew I had to wear it. I mean, hell: how can you tell who the priest is if he's not wearing the funny hat?
And with that thing, clearly, I was the pope.
Yep, Pope Cockroach the Green.
Yay, Summerland! I am very excited to attend my first-ever pagan festival!! I won't be coming until Friday afternoon, so I hope I don't get the worst camping spot. I already bought a back-up set of guitar strings and am ready to go!
Don't worry: there are plenty of places to set up camp.
And guitar strings. . . Ooh, looking forward to finally hearing some of your music :)
I would LOVE to come...in fact, I was hoping to make it this year...HOWEVER, I will be in my 37th week of pregnancy and I don't think you want this year's gathering to be memorable because someone delivered their baby at it. ;O}
Have fun without me. We'll shoot for next year.
Well, we certainly know the way to the hospital very well by this point. . .
I plan to come, but ONLY if the lights go out again strategically. ;-)

This sounds like a story I want to hear.....

Re: lights out?
I was talking to Chronarchy in the shelter at night, I think maybe before the band played... and all the lights went out. We jokingly said something like, 'oh how opportune!' and threw our arms around each other. Then we acted all 'uh oh!' when the lights came back on a few seconds later. lol Then a few minutes later the same thing happened again, so OF COURSE we had to rinse, lather, repeat. Hee!

Re: lights out?
Well, yeah. I mean, hell: it was really the only option, when the lights kept going out!

Re: lights out?
I took it as a very strong hint from the gods. A momentary omen, if you will. ;-)
Perhaps I can arrange something with the lighting folk. . .
I'm sure we can work something out. Part of the issue is that I'll be down in Yellow Springs for a chunk of Wed., but I have to come back to Columbus that night, anyway, to pick someone up the next morning. So, if you need, we do have a futon in the basement now :)
And you and I have to work out what we're doing for Midnight Flame.
I think it would be a fun event to attend, but am out of vacation time and funding. Hopefully next year!!!
Good luck with it
