|09:54 am - Owwww|
So, I pretty neatly cracked my head open on Saturday, banging it with a chunk of force and acceleration against a steel vicegrip on my work bench.
This particular hit wasn't nearly as hard as the last time I really banged my head against something (no concussions, just that momentary, "Man, that hurt. I hit my head. OooOOOhh, crap. . . now it hurts even more!" sort of response). This is probably good, since that last crack did some permanent damage.
It had some affect on me throughout Saturday (Saturday's second post, regarding rune dice, still doesn't have the correct four aetts showing in the picture, and I updated it three times. The third aett should begin with Eihwaz. . . So far it has been Perþo, Elhaz, and Tiwaz). I also screwed up the burning of a full set of rune dice, wasting about $10 worth of materials in the process (a rune tile is worthless if you carve into it incorrectly. . . and rune dice have six opportunities to carve a rune incorrectly).
Tina informs me that the scrape across my head is about an inch to an inch and a half, and the lump appears to be about the size of a silver- or half-dollar.
I was pretty darn coherent on Sunday, and driving to Toledo and back wasn't an issue (don't worry, tesinth, I would have let you know if it was). I'm interested to see where this goes in the near future.
Head injuries are interesting, complicated things.
Heh. I believe it is unrelated that I have forgotten the point I was going to make in this entry.

Cleaning up the workbench so that I could do. . . you know. . . work. On the bench.
It seemed like a good idea at the time :)
I have a little bin for them. I toss 'em in, shave and burn them later. There are a couple in the bin right now: I haven't had the opportunity to get rid of them. Maybe I should look them over and see what's up with 'em?
Weirdly, my middle toe also hurts. . . Crazy, that.
The after effects of head injuries can be quite insidious. A CT scan might just be in order, especially since this is your second head injury.
I hope you are feeling better! :)
Haha. Without splitting off some more personalities (it's already crowded up there) I don't think I could get crazier :)
I'm feeling a lot better today.
Last head injury came with the famous, "Just put ice on it; you should be fine."
That from an athletic trainer. The guy even cleared me to practice, so I took myself off rotation. Long term effects? I've got 'em :)
Indeed, you are correct :)

Re: *pats your head gently*
I'll try :)
You know what helps head injuries? Pig roasts.
Specifically, ones occurring in Cincinnati on September 5th starting around 6-ish. I, mean, you could turn me down but would your head thank you? Emphatically, no. I also would not thank you because, seriously, I'll be in Ohio and how often does that happen? Enough guilt trips and questions.
I know, not the response you were looking for.
I'm in northern Michigan that weekend. Otherwise, I would totally be there. With bells on.
Well, then, what will you be doing on August 31-September 4th?
At the moment, nothing :) It's one of the few free weekends around.
You're doing better than I was...after I fell into a bookshelf, I had to get 7 staples for the 3.5 inch laceration in my scalp.
On the other hand, I didn't have any wierd unexpected brain effects...the vicodin stuff was pretty much expected.
