|08:51 pm - Takin' out the CTP|
Sometimes, when deadlines pass, it's just too easy to ignore them. So, I've reset the deadlines on my outstanding clergy work.
I'm going to beat this program into the ground.
Current Location: Southeast of Disorder

If I don't take a break -- and I mean a *complete* break -- from teaching and all things related to teaching, there's no way I'll be able to finish 2nd circle by October 2010. *sigh* You're much closer than I am, though.
I know: getting through these things is hell. Fortunately, though, it's not a race.
Unless, like me, you're engaged in a pig-headed, I'm-gonna-get-there-first contest with yourself. :)
Oh, but it is a race. I have to complete all of CTP2 by Samhain 2010. *sigh* I just don't know. Some days I don't even know if I care to try anymore.
We should probably have a really long talk about this sometime. Srsly.
Yeah, I'm not terribly happy with the time limits right now (haven't been since last year). I don't know what to do about 'em, though.
We ought to chat sometime, yes. I ought to go out to visit and chat in person. :)
Is there a time limit on the IP? I wasn't given one, and assumed I could sort of go at my own pace while I finish school. Human Genetics is hard and doesn't leave me much time for reading other books. I do get in about ten or twenty pages a week, but it makes for slow progress.
No, but there is on CTP work. In total, you can take only 9 years to complete all three circles, if you are consecrated as a Dedicant Priest prior to completing the First Circle. Basically, you get three years to complete each circle.
Of course, if you don't become clergy until you've finished Third Circle, you can take as long as you want. It's just that the clock starts as soon as you're consecrated.
Last year was my final extension, as I was consecrated in 2006. I need to finish by Samhain this year with Circle 2.
(Technically, I have an additional 3 years of unused extensions, but I don't think that the CC SOP is clear enough about that for me to ask. And I could argue that Circle 2 wasn't complete before 1/1/09, so I should have at least two extensions left. . . but I wouldn't argue that.)

You should get some kind of credit for helping design the course you are about to do, shouldn't you?
Gods, it makes it harder to complete the damn things, believe it or not: not only am I fighting with myself when the wording of a question doesn't come out like I intended and leads down a completely different path than I expected, but since I'm running through them first (or second or third, depending), I'm also catching things that don't necessarily make sense. Then there's that "what was I thinking?!?!?" response that just makes it worse :)
But no, I oughtn't get credit for that, not really. There shouldn't be a free ride for anyone in an organization that values the maxim, "Why not Excellence?"
