06:10 am - John McCain is a hack of a blacksmith I had a dream last night that John McCain was a blacksmith, that his incredibly hot-but-too-young-for-me daughter (who I made up for this dream, apparently) was managing his shop, and that she was selling iron ouroboros rings for $10 each. I bought ten.
Then I found out that he didn't make them, and they were on sale for $5, and I decided that he was a hack of a blacksmith.
His daughter indicated that the plural of "ouroboros" was "ouroborosi," but I wrote on my check that it was "ouroboroses." Current Location: Southeast of Disorder Current Mood: amused Current Music: "Tryin' to Reason with Hurricane Season", - JB

ha ha, what? That's hilarious. I just wish I could remember why I needed ten iron Ouroboros rings. . . ??? Maybe to impress the hottie ????
Amusing dream, thanks I've done dumber things then spend $50 on ouroboros rings to impress a girl, I admit. :) Sometimes an ouroboros is just an ouroboros. *shrug* Sometimes it is, I suppose ;) Yeah, it is worth mentioning :) I just don't find the real one to be all that hot. Though both were blond. I think I dislike her nose. . . Wouldn't the plural of "ouroboros" be "ouroboroi"? It very well might be. Plurality was never my specialty. :) ![[User Picture]](https://l-userpic.livejournal.com/46638005/9126924) | From: | tesinth |

Hmm, you have a dream about John McCain and wake up to hear Obama is getting a Nobel Peace Prize. Interesting. Yeah, and I'm not sure which is weirder, honestly: Obama getting the Nobel Peace Prize, or John McCain being a crappy blacksmith. They're both pretty surreal, and I honestly thought I was still sleeping when I heard the Prize news. ![[User Picture]](https://l-userpic.livejournal.com/46638005/9126924) | From: | tesinth |

Well hell, have a dream about Bush Jr. tonight and see what happens, who knows, I might even meet someone tomorrow! :) ![[User Picture]](https://l-userpic.livejournal.com/117920172/397106) | From: | lesyoyo |

Alright, this is just a thought, his daughter, something you could not have but wanted. The rings, eternal flow. The fact that they are snakes that do this could be transformation or weariness of things to come. Ten, well, that could be ten different tries to over come something. And the fact that you paid double the amount of what they should be is maybe a sign that there is double the work being done when there could be an easier way or that you feel like you are paying more then others are. Just thoughts. I like dreams and trying to find what they mean. While I have an advanced degree in Psychology I tend to not interpret dreams.
Think about what ouroboros means to you. Is it the symbol or the snake that is important? If it was the oroborus, which it seems to be given the fixation on the plurality of the word, then is there something in your life exhibiting cyclicality at this time? Maybe something that is recurring and needs attention? It could be a certain theme, a behavior, or other event.
Is it the fact that they were made by McCain or learning that they weren't made by him at all? Do you feel cheated by something in your life right now?
What does an attractive, but too young for you, girl mean to you? Would you have found her not too young a few years ago?
Is the number 10 significant to you? Or is the total figure 100 or 50 important?
It sounds to me like you fell asleep while watching something political on TV and when the show ended it moved on to some scifi show and the combo invaded your subconscious.
BTW: Jenni is right sometimes an oroboros is just an oroboros. I'm just amused that McCain was crappy as a blacksmith. :-D ![[User Picture]](https://l-userpic.livejournal.com/89402197/19792462) | | | on a scarcely related subject | (Link) |

I didn't ever think that I would need the plural form of ouroboros for use in a sentence.
In other news...I always thought the Neverending Story's Orin is a blatant makeover of the Ouroboros symbol. Two versus one, you see.
Has anyone read the book? Was there anything about the Orin that seemed significant to the concept of the Ouroboros. I've only seen the movie. hmph. |
