It's a bad day when you can't find a way to install Microsoft Office on Microsoft Windows. Not 2003 (which I uninstalled this morning), 2007, or 2010. I may have to roll back to Word 97 at this rate.

And now my CD drive is making creepy noises.

Runs on a toaster if its got the RAM, and is backwards compatible with very nearly anything.

I second the suggestion. I wasn't overly fond of it at first, but I've gotten great mileage out of it.

Unfortunately, I'm testing 2010 for the campus, so running OpenOffice doesn't resolve the issue. :)

Which version of windows are you running? If it is 7 or Vista you will need to make sure you have the privileges to actually install the software, otherwise whoever the admin on your machine is will have to install it for you.

I'm admin on my machine (I require admin access to do my work. . . and I actually do: I'm not one of the people who whines about "needing" admin access when they really don't), but the OS is XP. I suspect that I'll have a 7 computer soon, though. . . and all the joy that comes with that.
