It's been hectic today. I had a reading quiz in my Vampire class. That was amusing. I think I did pretty darn well, considering I read 3/5 of the stories assigned.
I think I'm going to hang out here in Columbus over Thanksgiving. I can hope for some time to go hiking or shopping, but we'll see.
Wait until you see my next update to my webpage. I have something special in store for all my adoring fans. . . And you won't get it out of me until I update!
I decided to write down all the books I got at Half Price a few days ago. Just for laughs, you know?
Nora Chadwick - The Celts
A classic in Celtic studies. Outdated, but good, anyway.
C. S. Forester - The Gun
This guy wrote the Hornblower novels. Can any book by him suck?
Kenneth Meadows - Rune Power
I've heard a lot about this book.
Geoffrey Cornelius - The Starlore Handbook: an Essential Guide to the Night Sky
I like the myths associated with the stars and constellations. I've been looking for a book that dealt with them for a long time.
Lisa Peschel - A Practical Guide to the Runes: Their Uses in Divination and Magick
You should read my definition of "Magic" and "Magick" sometime.
Wendy Doniger O'Flaherty - Other People's Myths
I'm sure I'll have to read this in my Comp Studies classes in Grad School. Might as well buy it and get a head start.
Walter Burkert - Structure and History in Greek Mythology and Ritual
I need to get Greek Religion by him too, but I haven't managed. So I'll settle here for now.
Walter Goffart - Barbarians and Romans: AD 418-584: The Techiques of Accomodation
This had a cool title, and I'm always interested in the "other" in Rome.
Barry Raftery (ed) - Atlas of the Celts
I like this book. Gorgeous pictures, beautiful maps, it's just really nice.
Barry Cunliffe - The Celtic World: An Illustrated History of the Celtic Race: Their Culture, Customs, and Legends
A beautiful-looking book. I'm really impressed with it.
Arthur Edward Waite - The Wordsworth Book of Spells
Pure amusement value. Unless the Chaote inside gets ahold of me again.
Donald Tyson - Rune Magic
A New Age book that can spell "Magic". Finally. *exasperated sigh*
Ceisiwr Serith - The Pagan Family: Handing the Old Ways Down
I like Cei a lot. He's a good person. And this book is out of print and I got the last one at Half Price :)
Andy Baggott - Runes: Using Runes for Divination, Protection, Healing, and Understanding
Ooh. Pretty pictures. I don't think this'll be worth much.
John Michael Greer - Natural Magic: Potions and Powers from the Magical Garden
JMG is an ADF member. And he certainly seems to know his stuff. Wish I'd had a book for him to sign when I met him at Elysium.
Tadhg MacCrossan - The Truth About the Druids
Amusingly, this particular book is available "new and used" from Amazon.com at $.01
Edred Thorsson - The Truth about Teutonic Magick
That spelling of "Magick" doesn't endear me to his cause.
Frater U.:D.: - Secrets of Western Sex Magic
Tina laughed pretty hard when she saw me with this one.
