06:49 pm - Kilts
So I'm looking at Kilts.

Any suggestion where to get one?

I found a nice one in black.

What do you think, long, medium, or short?

Current Mood: indescribable
Current Music: "Domino College", -JB

The wench in me would prefer shorter. :-}
However, I believe the most commonly accepted length is at mid-knee.

Uhm, hello, seamstress here! Unfortunately low on my kilt material right now, but depending on what you wanted . . . I do have some dark green/black/navy blue in a nice wool blend. If you wanted 100% wool, I'm afraid I only have solid colors and it is more cloak weight than kilt weight. I definitely like medium, right around the knees. We actually have a shop here in VT you can get authentic plaids at - I'd have to find their card - but they might be worth a try (don't know the price). If you found fabric you liked at the fabric store, they are super easy to make - I can send you a pattern.

Hehe. You see, when you go away, sometimes your talents get forgotten. :(

But those pants I'm wearing in my user icon were made by you :) And they're damn comfortable.

Hmm. . . I don't care too much about colour. I'm not Scottish, Irish (they never wore kilts until they decided to be like the Scots, anyway) or any other "ish", so it doesn't really matter.

But it should set of my eyes. . .

Hmm. . . Let me talk to Tina and see what she thinks about colour. . .

(oh, before I get yelled at about that "Irish never wore kilts" bit, read this:

No Irish Kilt

Short and black? Hmmm.. and you will wear it in the traditional way????

My inital instinct is to say short. You have gorgeous legs (and the rest doesn't look so bad from the photos I've seen). However, I once saw a photo of a co-worker's son in a long kilt (actually, I think the outfit might have been more Japanese but it was still not pants), and I almost drooled on her desk. Almost. Drooling is very unprofessional :D

Any length is good, as long as you are wearing it 'old style'.

medium.. long is nice and traditional but, you have nice legs.. Mini/short is for sluts which you aren't.

I like 'em long. But I haven't seen you in person, so my advice is potentially useless.

Medium length, right above the knee. Sorry, in my opinion only girls should wear shorter skirts. I've seen too many male cosplayers in mini-skirts. Plus, don't want the kilt too short, if you were it the first way you have nothing under it. *grin*

Except maybe a ribbon if you get drunk... ^.^

Ryan's been looking for a Utila-kilt. What is this sudden urge for kilts? I've been wearing/seeing them since I was about 7, so it's funny to see a sudden uprise in them. ^.^

You should wear it short, so I can expose you in public. Heh. >:)

I also vote for utilikilts.com. They look real nice. a black would look good with that red shirt... and 2 inches above the knee at shortest, m'dear...

;-) short!

j/k ... I think a medium one would suit you nicely. I am not sure what I think of black ... I go for the plaids meself.
