|10:57 am - Vote, you bastards!|
Ladies and gentlemen (esp. if you live in Ohio)
Tomorrow is a day where the polls are open. If you are un-aware of this, consider yourself informed.
Do you complain about the government? Do you know that the amount you pay in taxes is probably going to change? Do you want to make a real political statement?
Get off yer ass and vote, then! There are issues in your community that you need to make an informed decision on, because if you don't, then someone else is making it for you. Democracy doesn't work if your voice is silent.
I believe that primaries are also tomorrow, if you're registered Republican or Democrat. Make sure you get out, because if you don't, someone else will.
Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty.

It's the NY primaries too!
I believe us independents get to vote too don't we?
Yes. On issues. Nothing else.
damn. well I'll still do my part.
My district had both the COSI levy and one for . . . Awww, hell, what was the other one? It was like for placement of abused children or something.
Dammit, I understood what it was when I voted on it! Stupid memory.
*sigh* I think we could do better things with our cash than give it to the COSI project frankly.
That's the beauty of the system: you can make the choice :)
There are a lot of pros and cons to it. But *lays finger aside nose* I don't speak about how I voted. Never do :) I won't even talk about who I voted for in the last presidential election, because I consider it my business, and only mine.
Of course, I often wonder who/what people think I voted for, and it pisses me off sometimes that I can't tell them that they're wrong. But I made this choice never to discuss it, so I have to live with it :)
A dear friend of mine was unaware that the primaries were today and when reminded of it was like, "oh I never vote in the primaries.. I'll wait until november.." which just slayed me. *sigh* I hope when november comes they don't say, "oh I never vote I'll leave it up to someone else.."
Just tell them to shut up if they start complaining. I'm a firm believer that if you aren't interested in having your voice heard in elections, then your opinion means nothing the rest of the year, too.
I agree a hundred percent. I hate hearing people kvetch and then say they didn't use their vote.
The oregon primaries aren't until September!!
