ADF has people with a broad range of afterlife theories.

change to:
People in ADF have a broad range of afterlife theories.

ADF ritual sees each deity as an individual entity. The ritual assumes polytheism and deals with each deity in its own.

Change to:
..... deals with each deity on its own.

Grove Organizers (and Senior Druids) should also try to remember to avoid comparisons to Wiccan ritual during pre-ritual briefings.

Actually, this needs to say something about avoiding judgements, I think, rather than avoiding comparisons... because as you say at the end, it IS important to speak to the lack of calling quarters and the open circle, and other such generically assumed things.

General comments:

MUCH better than what is there now....

I wonder about the comment about not raising energy, though, because we ALWAYS raise energy - or at least, the energy is there, during our rituals. I know Kirk also has pieces to raise energy - such as the counter-clockwise circle and chant we use to open the gates. So, perhaps that needs to be reworded to say "ADF builds energy in other ways."

Anyway - great work. Thanks for doing it!

Made those changes, mostly. The second change you suggested was a sentence that I forgot to end, but that still magically got a period at the end.

Looks good. :)

...although I have to agree with John Michael Greer that this is about ADF Druidry, because I know from personal experience that OBOD Druidry is VERY different. So maybe it should be retitled Wicca and ADF Druidry, or some such.

Take a look at it now. I added a bit about how I'm only talking about ADF Druidism, and I also changed the title a bit.

Yes! Much clearer.

Have you seen John Michael Greer's group, by the way? I am fascinated by them... http://www.aoda.org/member.htm. Is it considered a British group?

I know a bit about it. ADF's DP is (supposedly) going to be or already is automatic entry to the first initiatory level (I assume you still have to plunk down the cash, as with any good Druid Order), so that's pretty cool.

I've thought about them.

I'm highly amused by JMG's title, though. I laugh every time I see it.

I've recently joined AODA. I like the order, and I think that John Michael will be very successful in leading this group. I look forward to a good future with AODA.

Yeah, I keep thinking about it, but I realize that I do too much with ADF as it is, so I need to not get involved in another group right now.

And worry not, you'll have this essay for Oak Leaves. Once everyone finishes commenting on it (or I just decide that it's *done*).

I'll also submit a copy in word format for the GOH here shortly (Friday at the latest).
